January 21st, 2023: Aquarius New Moon
The Aquarius New Moon (1 deg) happens at 3:53 pm EST and opposes Black Moon Lilith in Leo.
Here is the radical new beginning. The fringe, the future, the collective- these themes will be part of this Moon as you're encouraged to set off on a path that may lead you away from the group. Or, if you're in line with the group, you and others will be starting something fresh and idealistic There's a mix of the unknown and clarity- the goal is not defined but the feeling is pure.
But that opposition to Lilith adds a darker edge. The controversial woman in the spotlight is exposing something about society's approach to women and sex that's very uncomfortable. She's apart from the group and is grabbing all sorts of attention. She's gorgeous and has a reputation.
Is she being condemned? Is everyone afraid of what she's revealing?
This Moon's crystal certainty (the purity of theory that hasn't been tested yet) will be tested by Lilith. The stainless ideas about freedom, technology or society are barely born and already there's a challenge. You may be standing back and observing someone who personifies BML or she represents part of you that's exposed at the start of this chapter.
Black Moon Lilith is the point where the Moon is furthest from the Earth during its orbit. She's "over there" and her opposition to this New Moon really emphasizes that distance. What's starting now is not as clear as you might think - there are issues that are being projected and disowned. The glamorous woman who refuses to act properly is a reminder that personal freedom within society includes the people who have zero chill (BML in Leo is proud, powerful, sexual and unrepentant). Radical discomfort is part of this beginning. What you're trying to ignore or push away is part of this beginning.
